OPEN DAY 31st MAY KNOCKANORE COMMUNITY HALL

Updated: Dec 29, 2018

You may already be aware that Innogy Renewables Ireland Ltd, a subsidiary of German multinational RWE, and Coillte are jointly proposing a very large wind farm in our community. Approximately half on Public Lands and the other half in private ownership.

Innogy has just released information on the area of their proposed wind farm. They have called a public information evening on:

Thursday 31st May - 4-9pm: at KGK Community Hall, Knockanore to disseminate their information.

The KGK Working Committee will be there to represent the community, to support you and answer any supplementary questions you may have or to ask the developer questions on your behalf.

We should use this opportunity to gain as much information from the developer. At this stage it would be unwise to offer them any local information.

As we all acknowledged at our last Public Meeting wind farms divide communities, cause health problems and devalue our properties and destroy the nature of our pristine lands that we hold for future generations.

Innogy are known for their off-shore wind farms so we will be politely suggesting that they take this massive proposal away from our community and out to sea.

Coillte are the custodians of our forestry lands so we will be politely suggesting that they plant more trees which are truly green and sustainable.
